Hope For Just $5

Children’s Camps International (CCI) operates on a foundation of integrity and ingenuity in the work that they do. When you donate to CCI through Harvest for Kids or any of our other projects, the resources entrusted to the ministry will always be accounted for and used effectively in the mission field.

For only $5 a child can attend a week of camps as well as benefit from weekly follow up programs run by the local churches. It only takes a small amount to make a huge difference in a child’s life. We strongly believe in the effectiveness of this ministry and that Harvest for Kids is a great way for everyone to get involved in growing the children’s camps ministry around the world.

In the mission field the money is used for food, arts & crafts supplies, and sports equipment. Children enjoy games such as cricket, soccer, skipping rope, baseball and other sports, depending on the country in which the camp takes place. Meals and snacks are provided daily for the camper and they are also able to make a craft which they can take home to show their family.

Teaching times are also an important part of the camps and can have an eternal impact on the camper’s lives. Their family and friends are also greatly impacted by the workbooks and the personal stories the children take home from their week at camp.

Please join with us in this exciting ministry as it continues to grow with the help of our generous community.

A Harvest for Kids Race Car?

The Sound of Hope just got a little louder. You may have already seen the pictures we added of a sprint car bearing the Harvest for Kids logos and are wondering what it’s all about. The #27 car will be racing with the Northern Lightning Sprint Association, created in September of 2008, the NLSA is a rapidly growing organization committed to the creation and maintenance of safe, fast, fun, and affordable open wheel racing. Many of the NLSA members are committed to helping charities around Manitoba such as the Children’s Hospital Foundation and Cancer Care of Manitoba.

A really big thank you goes to Chris Unrau for displaying our logos and information on his #27 car for the first half of the NLSA racing schedule at Red River Co-op Speedway. The Speedway schedule starts this coming Saturday the 17th of April with practice runs for all divisions. Unrau’s car can also be seen at other events around Southern Manitoba to help promote our Harvest for Kids event as well as representing the NLSA.

More information, such as schedules and special events, can be found on the Team 27 website and on the NLSA website and on their Facebook page.
