On The Combine

Through the wonders of a simple Facebook message, Harvest for Kids was able to connect with country group, High Valley. Although they weren’t able to perform at the world record event, we did have the opportunity to team up with a video crew from all around North America to create a music video for their latest single, On the Combine.
Footage filmed at the 2010 Harvest for Kids event was integrated into the music video and High Valley plans to take the story of Harvest for Kids and Children’s Camps International on the road, helping to echo the sound of hope to all of their fans across the continent.
The music video and other band info can be found on CMT, as well as on High Valley’s website, YouTube and Vimeo page. If you’d like a copy of it for yourself it will be included with the footage of the world record event on the Harvest for Kids DVD which can be purchased here.
The band will also be taking a trip to India together with Children’s Camps International in January, so that they can experience firsthand, the work that is being done by CCI in India. We have really enjoyed working with High Valley so far and can’t wait to see where this partnership will lead us in the future.

The Record is Set, Now Let’s Send Kids to Camp!

Thank you to everyone who helped to make Harvest for Kids 2010 a huge success. The day started off cool and cloudy but when the sun came out everyone there was feeling the heat and the combines were ready to roll.

The harvest began at about 12pm and 5 minutes later a Guinness World RecordTM was set with 200 combines harvesting simultaneously on the same field. After the record was set, the combines continued to work and finished picking up their swaths about 6-7 minutes later, finishing off the field completely.

The setting was a 302 acre field south of Winkler, Manitoba, Canada. Approximately 50 acres were harvested ahead of time to make room for spectators and parking, leaving 250 acres to be harvested during the record attempt.

Estimated crowds of 15,000 people were in attendance to witness the record, in addition to that, an adjudicator from Guinness World RecordsTM was also there to make the record official.

You can support the cause and receive a memory by ordering Harvest for Kids memorabilia. Print and mail in this form or call us at one of the numbers listed on our contacts page.

At Children’s Camps International (CCI) we are working to echo the ‘Sound of Hope’, seeking ways in which Harvest for Kids can continue to be an effective awareness builder for CCI and its ministry.
